It's National School Bus Safety Week and CCPS Transportation Appreciation Week! Farmington loves our bus drivers! Each driver received a gift, a small token of our huge gratitude for transporting and keeping our students safe.




The Day of Awesomeness was just that! Students enjoyed 4 inflatables, a game, and dance party during their resource today. This was a whole school reward for the PTO fundraiser- Step It Up!


Our 5th grade students went off campus today to Luray Caverns. In school, students have been learning about geology and the rock cycle. Students did self-guided tours and read facts about each landmark . Dream Lake and the Stalacpipe Organ (Cathedral) were among the favorites.

Day of Awesome- this Thursday, October 19, 2023!
We are excited and getting ready for the Day of Awesome sponsored by the PTO. During resource classes that day, students will be able to enjoy music, dancing, and a variety of inflatable bounce houses and obstacle courses.

STEM at the Airport once again was a huge hit! Students visited a variety of hands-on exhibits. Exhibits ranged from plane tours, learning about riveting, coding and robotics play, a mini forge station, ambulance tour, virtual welders, and so much more!



In an effort to continue to promote physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being, our 4th grade students have been traveling to State Climb this week.



Hispanic Heritage spirit week continued today with Tejano Tuesday. Students dressed in western attire in honor of cowboys (vaqueros).
Tomorrow is Wear It Wednesday- Wear a soccer or baseball jersey.


Farmington is celebrating Hispanic Heritage month with a spirit week. Today was Model It Monday! Students came dressed as a Hispanic hero or role model. Frida Kahlo, Dr. Domingo Liotta, Eric Estrada and more! One student dressed as his father, who is a community helper hero.

We had some special guests today in the car drop off line. CCHS football players have been taking turns volunteering at the elementary schools in the county.




The Crunch Heard ‘Round the Commonwealth is a special event to increase awareness of Virginia farm to school programs. To celebrate the event, students were offered a locally grown apple. CRUNCH!




During PE, students participated in the VA Family Nutrition Program through the VA Cooperative Extension. This is a 6-week series where students will learn about the importance of nutrition and try healthy foods. All grades learned about My Plate and sampled a healthy snack.

4th and 5th grade SCA students held their first meeting today. They helped to make signs to promote Unity Week for Farmington. Unity Spirit Week will be held the week of October 23 - 27th.



Once a week fifth grade students who participate in chess club get to improve their chess game by playing each other during their lunch. They have been teaching each other how to play and working on mastering strategies to win.





Slam Dunk! Farmington's PTO has donated the purchase and install of a permanent basketball hoop for our school.


Archaeologists Mark and Kimberly Trickett presented to our 4th grade classes.
Students learned about artifacts, what archaeologists do, the tools used, and the places in the world where they have gone to find artifacts. Students did several activities that involved describing, sorting, and mapping artifacts.
