💻 Today, our Elementary ITRTs hit the road, visiting Farmington, Pearl Sample, and A.G. Richardson to bring hands-on coding experiences to our 3rd grade students!

Using ScratchJr, students explored the basics of computer programming as they created, tested and improved their own code. These experiences directly support Virginia’s Computer Science SOLs while building problem-solving and computational thinking skills.

Don’t worry, Sycamore Park, Yowell and Emerald Hill—they’re headed your way later this week!

Our fourth-grade students teamed up with CCPS elementary ITRTs for a hands-on lesson in digital citizenship! Students practiced choosing safe screen names, sharing positive pictures, and thinking about their digital footprints. They finished by creating pretend Instagram posts while their classmates left kind, positive comments! 💬

Have you ever wanted to learn to play an instrument? Now’s your chance to join the 5th Grade Band! Students can choose from flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, or baritone—and even try the instruments before deciding which one is the perfect fit!
