To become more aware of the effects of water pollution, students participated in a simulated dolphin autopsy. They made observations, took measurements, and investigated the dolphin's external and internal features. They ultimately concluded that pollution killed the dolphin.

Every month students are recognized for displaying "Fantastic Fox" qualities. Students have been recognized for a wide range of reasons like study habits, good character traits, being a peer role model, and so much more. They are given yard signs to show the whole neighborhood!

This group of 3rd grade students worked together to engineer a Bit:Bot car. A Bit:Bot is a two-wheel drive robot vehicle that is controlled by a micro:bit. Their engineering skills and communication while collaborating where amazing. They are going to continue to work on their driving abilities.

Mrs. McMahon's 3rd grade class had a very unique visitor today. She brought in a Virginia black bear rug to show the students the different traits predators have and the adaptations black bears have to help them survive in Virginia. The class has named him "Big Joe"!

The Wildlife Center of Virginia visited our school today. Students learned what to do if they find a wild animal in need, met some rescued animals and asked many great questions. All students who attended today's assemblies earned this reward through good behavior.
