In Loving Memory of Mrs. Evelyn Sawyer

Farmington recently honored the life and legacy of Mrs. Evelyn Sawyer, who dedicated 21 of her 26 teaching years to our school before retiring due to medical reasons. Retirement did not keep Mrs. Sawyer away—she remained a devoted volunteer, finding joy in reading with students and supporting learning wherever she could.

A recipient of the Golden Apple Award, Mrs. Sawyer’s dedication to education and her unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on countless students. Her passion for teaching went beyond lessons and textbooks—she inspired curiosity, compassion, and a love of learning in every student she met.

In her memory, her family has generously donated a bench, a plant, and a collection of books to Farmington. The bench bears a heartfelt plaque: "In loving memory of our favorite teacher, Evelyn Sawyer, who taught us the true, the good, and the beautiful."

These gifts will continue to inspire reflection, growth, and learning for years to come. We are deeply grateful for Mrs. Sawyer’s lasting impact on our school community and for the thoughtful tribute from her family. She will always be remembered as a cherished member of our Farmington family.
