Who are the masked readers?

Farmington Elementary's librarian (Ms. Beth Ferlazzo), reading specialists (Mrs. Christin Smith), and ITRT (Mrs. Keri Nicholson) hosted a Masked Reader Contest. Beloved characters Mickey the Mouse, Minnie the Mouse, a NASA astronaut, and a cunning fox read a part of a story each day on the morning newscast. Adding an extra layer of mystery, the characters' voices were cleverly disguised. Eager students and staff eagerly awaited each day's installment, receiving new clues to unravel the identity of the masked reader. The hallways buzzed with excitement as children listened intently to the captivating readings, igniting a renewed enthusiasm for reading throughout the school. The contest not only entertained but also encouraged students to embrace the challenge of literacy, fostering a spirit of celebration during Read Across America week.
